Hot punch cherries with vanilla ice cream
- 1 glass (720 ml) cherries
- 1/4 l red wine
- 3-4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 star anise span>
- 1-2 sp an> small cinnamon sticks

- Let the cherries drain while collecting the juice. Bring the juice, wine, sugar, anise, cinnamon and lemon zest to the boil. Cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes

- Mix the starch and 2 tbsp water until smooth. Stir into the hot juice and simmer briefly. Take the pot off the stove. Stir in the rum and cherries and let cool down a bit.

- Remove the cinnamon stick, star anise and lemon peel if necessary and divide the punch cherries into 4 glasses. Put 1 scoop of ice cream on each and decorate
