Hot punch cherries with vanilla ice cream

For 4 people
  • 1 glass (720 ml) cherries
  • 1/4 l red wine
  • 3-4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 star anise
  • 1-2 small cinnamon sticks
  • 1 go. EL cornstarch
  • 5 EL Rum
  • 4 (50 ml each) Scoops of vanilla ice cream

Let the cherries drain while collecting the juice. Bring the juice, wine, sugar, anise, cinnamon and lemon zest to the boil. Cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes

Mix the starch and 2 tbsp water until smooth. Stir into the hot juice and simmer briefly. Take the pot off the stove. Stir in the rum and cherries and let cool down a bit.

Remove the cinnamon stick, star anise and lemon peel if necessary and divide the punch cherries into 4 glasses. Put 1 scoop of ice cream on each and decorate
