Cute snow globes

Made of flour , Sugar, 1 pinch of salt, egg and butter to prepare a shortcrust pastry: First knead into coarse crumbs with the dough hook of the mixer. Then very quickly with your hands inKnead in the bowl or on the work surface to form a smooth dough.

Caution: If the dough is kneaded too long, the gluten (gluten protein in the flour) will form a framework. This is not desirable with shortcrust pastry as it makes the pastry tough. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in foil and cool for approx. 45 minutes.

Preheat the oven (electric stove: 175 ° C / convection: 150 ° C / gas: see manufacturer). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll out the dough on a little flour or between two layers of baking paper about 1⁄2 cm thick.

For the snow globe base, cut out 14 circles (approx. 6.5 cm Ø), for the decorated snow globe 14 circles (approx. 7 cm Ø). Cut a 1 cm wide strip from each of the larger circles.

Knead the leftover dough briefly over and over again, cool if necessary, roll out and cut out.

Place the cookies on the baking sheets. Bake one after the other in the hot oven for about 15 minutes. Take out, let cool down.

For the fir decorations, color 50 g of marzipan green. Roll out about 2 mm thin on a little powdered sugar. Cut out mini firs (approx. 2 cm each). Roll out the rest of the marzipan on a little powdered sugar to a thickness of approx. 2 mm. Cut out 3 bases for the fir trees.

Cut out 7 circles (approx. 2 and 2.5 cm in diameter) for the snowman. Knead the leftover marzipan back together. Color it red for the scarf. Shape into a thin roll and cut into pieces.

For the topping, stir 250 g powdered sugar with lemon juice and 4 tablespoons water until smooth. Color half blue, cover the rest well. Brush the top snow globe biscuits with blue icing. Decorate immediately with fir decorations, snowmen with scarf and sugar stars.

Chop the chocolate, melt in a hot water bath. Pour into a freezer bag, cut off the corner. Decorate snowmen with it, let dry.

Spread the white glaze in the middle of the snow globe feet. 1 eachplace decorated snow globe on top. Let dry.
