Turnip stew

For 4 people
  • 1 small turnip (approx. 800 g)
  • 2 medium-sized onion

  • 200 g triggered Kasseler cutlet
  • 1 EL Oil
  • 1 l Vegetable stock (instant)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 medium-sized carrots ( approx. 100 g)
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes (approx. 100 g each)
  • 1 Leek stick (approx. 200 g)
  • 1/2 Bund Parsley
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • grated nutmeg
  • 3 EL vinegar

Peel the turnip and cut into large cubes. Peel the onions and finely dice them. Cut the smoked pork into coarse cubes. Heat the oil in a saucepan and sweat the onions in it. Add smoked pork and fry briefly. Add the turnip and fill up with the stock. Add the laurel. Approx. Let simmer for 30 minutes. In the meantime, clean, peel and cut the carrots into fine slices. Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into large cubes. Add the carrots and potatoes about 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Clean and wash the leek and cut into coarse rings. Cook the leek for the last 5 minutes. Wash the parsley, pat dry, pluck the leaves from the stalks and cut into fine strips. Season the stew with salt, pepper, nutmeg and vinegar. Sprinkle with a little parsley and serve the rest separately
