- 100 ml red wine vinegar
- 300 g Sugar
- 2 TL 5-spice powder

- For the infusion, bring the vinegar, sugar, 200 ml water and 5-spice powder to the boil.

- In the meantime, distribute the cherries in clean glasses. Pour the hot infusion over it, leaving approx. 1.5 cm free towards the edge. Closing.

- Place glasses in a roasterand pour hot water. Boil in the hot oven for about 1 hour. Take out the glasses and let them cool down. Spicy cherries go well with steak, poultry or cheese.
