Spicy beef with Thai basil

For 3 people
  • 4-6 green chillies
  • 2 red chili peppers
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 shallots
  • 300-400 g Hoof steak from beef
  • 2-3 EL Oil (e.g. B. peanut or corn oil)
  • 2 EL Oyster sauce
  • 1 EL Thai fish sauce (both sauces are available in Asian stores)
  • 1 TL dark soy sauce
  • 1 TL brown sugar
  • 3-4 Stalk (s) Thai basil (Asian shop)

Clean the chilies, cut them lengthways, remove the seeds and wash. Chop the red and green chili peppers separately. Peel garlic and chop finely. Finely crush the green chilies and garlic in a mortar or puree in a blender.

Clean and wash the peppers and cut into strips. Peel shallots and cut into fine wedges. Pat the meat dry and cut into thin slices. Heat the oil in a wok or a large pan.

Fry the chilli mixture in it for about 1 minute. Add meat and stir-fry for about 1 minute. Remove. Fry the peppers and shallots in the frying oil for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the red chillies, seasoning sauces and sugar.

Fry for another 1-2 minutes. Wash the basil, shake dry and pluck the leaves. Fold in the basil and meat. Basmati rice tastes good with it.
