Poor knight with marinated strawberries

  • 500 g strawberries
  • 5 (à 15 g) slightly heaped tablespoon of sugar
  • 2 EL lemon juice
  • 8 slices white bread (approx. 25 g)

  • 2 EL Cream Sherry
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 EL Oil
  • 1 / 2-1 TL ground cinnamon

Wash, clean and roughly dice the strawberries. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar and drizzle with lemon juice. Approx. Let it steep for 30 minutes. Place the bread on a plate with a high rim. Warm milk to lukewarm. Mix with sherry and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Pour over the bread. Let it steep for 20-30 minutes until all of the liquid is absorbed. Turn several times. Whisk the eggs in a deep plate. Drain the bread a little and turn in the eggs. Heat the oil in portions in a coated pan. Fry the bread in portions on each side for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Mix the cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Turn the finished bread in it and keep it warm. Serve everything. Decorate with lemon wedges and mint
