Apple sheet cake

  • 1,2 kg apples (e .g . Elstar)
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 250 g Butter or margarine
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 1 package vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 6 eggs (size M)
  • 450 g flour
  • 50 g ground almonds
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 5-6 EL Milk
  • 100 g Cranberries (from the glass)

Peel and halve the apples and cut out the core. Drizzle with lemon juice. Mix the fat, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until creamy. Stir in eggs one at a time. Mix the flour, almonds and baking powder and stir into the egg mixture.

Stir in enough milk until the dough spreads well. Grease the oven's drip pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Put the dough on top and smooth out. Pre-bake for 10 minutes in a preheated oven (electric stove: 175 ° C / gas: level 2).

Spread the apples on the cake with the cut surface facing up. Bake for another 20-25 minutes. Take out the cake, let cool down a little. Put the cranberries in the apple halves.
