Apple pie from the tray with marzipan topping

  • 2 kg sour apples
  • Lemon juice
  • 450 g flour
  • 425 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Vanillin sugar

  • 1 packet pudding powder 'vanilla flavor'

  • 200 g Marzipan raw mass

Peel and quarter the apples, cut out the core. Halve the apple quarters again and drizzle with lemon juice. For the dough, mix flour, 225 g sugar and vanilla sugar. Knead in the soft fat with the dough hook.

Place the dough on a greased tray, distribute and press firmly. Spread the apple pieces evenly on top. For the topping, stir together 4 tablespoons of milk and pudding powder until smooth. Whisk another 4 tablespoons of milk and eggs.

Bring the rest of the milk to the boil. Dissolve the marzipan in it, add the remaining sugar. Pour in the mixed pudding powder. Bring to the boil briefly while stirring. Allow to cool slightly. Stir in the beaten eggs. Spread the marzipan evenly over the apples.

Bake the cake in the preheated oven (electric stove: 200 ° C / gas: level 3) for about 45 minutes. Serve sprinkled with crystal sugar. Whipped vanilla cream tastes good with it. Makes about 24 pieces.
