Apple pear and cinnamon punch

  • 400 g can pears in natural juice or 300ml pear juice
  • 500 ml pressed apple juice
  • 2 tbsp golden caster sugar
  • 8 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 cloves
  • 6 allspice berries
  • 1 lemon
  • 500 ml ginger ale

Puree the canned pear if using and the juice in a blender until really smooth. Place the pureed pears or pear juice in a large saucepan with the apple juice, sugar, cloves, allspice berries and 2 of the cinnamon sticks. Slice the lemon and add to the pan and heat gently stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Simmer for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Then add the ginger ale and heat gently. Serve poured into heatproof glasses with remaining cinnamon stick as stirrers
Tipplers Tip:
Replace the ginger ale with cider
