Apple mulled wine

For 4 cups / glasses
  • 2 thin slices of ginger (approx. 6 g )
  • 1 (0.7 l) Bottle of pure, naturally cloudy apple juice
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 (approx. 10 cm) cinnamon stick
  • 250 ml dry cider (cider / apple wine)
  • 125 ml drier Red wine
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1/4 apple

Ginger peel. Put apple juice, ginger, star anise and cinnamon stick in a saucepan, bring to the boil and let it steep for about 5 minutes over low heat. Pour in the cider and red wine, heat again and season with sugar. Remove the cinnamon stick, star anise and ginger. Core the apple and cut into 4 thin wedges. Distribute hot mulled apple and apple wedges into 4 glasses or mugs
