Apple groats with vanilla sauce

For 4 people
  • 4 medium-sized apples
  • 3 / 8-1 / 2 l Apple juice
  • 3-4 tbsp sugar
  • grated zest and juice of 1/2 untreated lemon
  • 1 packet custard powder 'vanilla
  • 2-3 tbsp sour cream
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 1 P. Sauce powder 'Vanilla
  • (without cooking; for 1/4 F.)

Peel and quarter the apples and remove the core. Cut off a few columns to decorate if you like. Dice the rest of the pulp. Bring to the boil with apple juice and sugar. Add the cinnamon stick, lemon zest and juice. Cover and simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes

Stir the pudding powder and 4 tbsp water until smooth. Stir into the apple groats and bring to the boil again. Remove the cinnamon stick

Pour apple porridge into 4 dessert glasses and allow to cool. Mix the cream, milk and sauce powder until smooth. Decorate the grits with apple wedges, cranberries and lemon balm. Add vanilla sauce
