Apple Franzbrötchen

For 4 people
  • 1 1/2 Apples
  • 2 EL Sugar
  • 1 TL cinnamon
  • 1 EL Butter
  • 2 rolls fresher Puff pastry

Peel, core and dice the apples. Mix the sugar and cinnamon. Melt butter. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (convection 180 degrees).

Unroll the puff pastry and peel off the paper. Brush 1 dough sheet with butter, withSprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar and spread the apple cubes on top. Place the 2nd sheet of dough on top. Brush with butter and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.

Roll up the dough sheets together from the long side. The seam should be at the bottom. Cut the roll into pieces approx. 4 cm wide. Press in each piece with a floured wooden spoon handle parallel to the cut surfaces.

Place on 2 baking sheets lined with baking paper at a distance of at least 4 cm. Bake in the hot oven for about 20-25 minutes.
