Apple black bread casserole

  • 350 g stale brown bread
  • about 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Cut black bread into slices, roughly crumble or grate. Mix with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, sugar and lemon zest. Peel the apples, remove the core. Slice the apples.

Drizzle with lemon juice. Grease an ovenproof dish (approx. 22 cm long and 10 cm high). Layer alternately black bread mixture, apple rings, sultanas and sour cream. Spread the fat on top in small flakes.
