African pumpkin rice pot

For 4 people
  • 500 g whole grain rice
  • 500 g Pumpkin pulp; in cubes
  • Oel
  • 1 Gemuesebruehwuerfel
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Handful of dried dates orRaisins
  • Cayenne pepper
  • mace;
  • Turmeric
  • Salt
  • chives

The onions are peeled , cut into cubes and sautéed in hot oil. Add the rice, fry in the oil and pour water over it so that the rice is about three centimeters high.

Gradually add the stock cube, the crushed garlic cloves, the pitted and chopped dates or raisins, the pumpkin flesh and finally the spices.
3.
When the rice is done and the dish is well seasoned, it can be served garnished with chopped chives.
